Welcome to Dinner And A Movie at Stumble Rumba!

socoI hope you like it hot!  Because we’re headed down South today for some good old-fashioned Barbeque Ribs and a healthy dose of Southern Comfort!

While Stumbling through the Weblogs category the other night, I came across this wonderful recipe for Barbeque Ribs over at BarbequeRecipeBlog.com.  and I said to myself, I said, “Now Scarlett, that looks like just about the easiest recipe for Barbeque Ribs that I have ever seen!  Why, I do declare!  I believe even I could follow this recipe!”

So I did!  And it was!  And now you should, too!

Now, this recipe calls for your choice of Barbeque sauce, but I also found a recipe to make your own sauce right there on the same blog – Spicy Barbeque Sauce Recipe

So, I threw caution to the wind and whipped up a batch of that, too.

And my, oh, my!  Did I have the most delicious batch of Ribs?!  MMMmmm!

I plan to go back next week and try out her recipe for Barbeque Chicken – that is, if I can’t figure out some way to get Rhett to do the cookin’!

I do believe I also mentioned Southern Comfort, did I not?  Let me see now….Oh yes!  The Big Easy!  All you need is some Southern Comfort, a little co’cola and a splash of grenadine.  Now, you men would probably prefer this without the grenadine.  And skip the co’cola, too!  Serve it on ice for a real refreshing drink to go with those ribs!

Movies With a Southern Flair

Have I dropped enough hints yet?  Have you figured out my all-time favorite Movie of the South?

Why, “Gone With The Wind“, you ninny!  LOL  It’s only the BEST movie about the South ever written!  gonewiththewind1

Oh, but that’s a little long for a date night movie.  How about something a little shorter and with a little less drama?

You could go for Reese Witherspoon in “Sweet Home Alabama“, a story about a young woman with a white trash background who runs away from her husband in Alabama and reinvents herself as a New York socialite.  It’s cute, it’s got some funny lines and a good story, and it’s Southern!  And, LeGasp!  It has Patrick “McDreamy” Dempsey, too!

If you’ve got a laptop, you can snuggle up on the couch and watch the movie right here.  If not, or if you prefer the watch your movies on the TV, then go ahead and drive somewhere and waste all your time standing around in line to pick up a copy of “Sweet Home Alabama” so you and you sweetheart will be able to sit at opposite ends of the sofa and really concentrate on the whole big screen experience.   Personally, I’d want to be sitting as close to my honey as possible when you get to the proposal scene.

Point made?  Good!  Now on with the movie!

Now wasn’t that just the Best movie you ever did….now, where did those two go?!

Well, I never!

Hope you enjoyed Dinner and a Movie with StumbleRumba.com!  C’mon back and see us next Saturday!
